To install a theme you must have a working version of WordPress already installed. For information on installing the WordPress platform, please see the WordPress Codex.
You can install the theme in two ways: through WordPress uploder, or via FTP. If you have trouble installing the theme via WordPress, please proceed with installing it via FTP and you will be able to get around the issue.
Installation via WordPress
- Navigate to "Appearance > Themes".
- Click Install Themes and hit the upload button.
- Navigate to find the "jobseek.zip" file on your computer and click "Install Now" button.
- Do the same with "jobseek-child.zip".
- The themes will be uploaded and installed.
- Activate the child theme.
Installation via FTP
- Log into your hosting space via an FTP software.
- Unzip the "jobseek.zip" and "jobseek-child.zip" file.
- Upload the extracted folder into "wp-content > themes" in your wordpress installation.
- Activate the newly installed theme. Go to Appearance > Themes and activate "Theme Child" theme.
Plugins Installation
After the theme is installed you may see a message asking you to install required and recommended plugins. Please follow it, install and activate plugins. This is especially recommended if you are going to upload demo data to replicated theme demo.
After plugins activation you may also see a mesage from some plugins (like WooCommerce) asking you to follow the setup process, for exmple to create necessary pages, tax and delivery options. Follow this message as well.
After you installed a theme with all the plugins, your homepage will look something like a blog posts archive. You may want to replicate our demo site instead of beginning from scratch, or you may skip this step.

Plugins Note
Before you proceed with import, there is an important note. This theme has required, recommended (bundled with theme or available for free) and optional list of paid third party plugins, in case you need extra functionality provided by them.
If you did not installed and activated one or several of these plugins (you may just don't need them), after demo file submitted you may see messages starting with "Invalid post type...", "Failed to import..." etc. Its not an issue, just importer skip the content types WordPress doesn't know about. For exampe if you did not installed a WooCommerce plugin, it will skip all products, because product post type is not registered. Or is there is no Resume Manager addon, then resumes will be missing of course. The other content will be imported fine.
Configure Plugins
You may want to change some settings of WP Job Manager and Resume Manager (if using) before data import. If you got to "Job Listings (Resumes) > Settings", there will be "Categories" checkbox and "Skills" (only for resumes). Enable them if you need this functionality.
Importing Demo Data
Go to Appearance > Install Demo Data and choose which demo data you will do install. Click and wait untill all data will be downloaded from our demo.
After theme installation you will see a welcome message to install plugins. Some of them are required, others just recommended. Some of them are sold separately, but none of those required. You don't required to buy any of listed plugins for the theme to function normally.
Note that each plugin has its own documentation where you can find answers on most of your questions. Support for plugins that are free or especially sold separately is handled by their authors.

Job Manager Related
Here is the list of Job Manager related plugins that supported:
- WP Job Manager – job board plugin, free, supported add-ons are listed below, free (documentation):
- Resume Manager – adds a resume submission form to your site and resume listings, all manageable from WordPress admin, sold separately (documentation).
- Applications – allow candidates to apply to jobs using a form & employers to view and manage the applications from their job dashboard, sold separately (documentation).
- WP Job Manager Geolocation – provides Geolocation features to WP Job Manager jobs, sold separately (documentation).
- Resume Manager Geolocation – expends the functionality of Resume Manager plugin with Geo-location features, sold separately (documentation).
- Application Deadline – allow job listers to set a closing date via a new field on the job submission form, sold separately (documentation).
- Bookmarks – allow logged in candidates and employers to bookmark jobs and resumes along with an added note, sold separately (documentation).
- Job Alerts – allow registered users to save their job searches and create alerts which send new jobs via email daily, weekly or fortnightly, sold separately (documentation).
- Job Tags – tag jobs with required skills, interests & technologies, show jobs by tag using shortcodes, and add tag filtering to the main jobs shortcode, sold separately (documentation).

WP Customizer
Customizer is located in "Appearance > Customize", it allow you:
- Site Identity — change site title, tagline, logo, favicon.
- Menus — manage menus and locations (Appearance > Menus).
- Widgets — manage widgets (Appearance > Widgets).
- Static Front Page — choose homepage and blog page.
- Footer — manager footer widget areas visibility and width, change copywright text.
- Color Scheme — customize branding colors.
Menus
Theme offers only 1 menu location — Main Menu.
Widgets
There are several widget ares in the theme:
- Blog — displayed on posts archive and single post pages.
- Page — displayed on pages with sidebar template.
- Shop — displayed on shot archive pages.
- Testimonials — displayed on testimonial posts page.
- Footer Sidebar 1, Footer Sidebar 2, Footer Sidebar 3, Footer Sidebar 4 — displayed in footer, can have different width and be hidden (settings are in customizer).
There are list of pages you need to cover all functionality offered by plugins.
The list of pages you need depends on set of plugins you are using. Here is the complete list for each plugin.
- Testimonials by WooThemes
- To show all testimonials on one page you need to add an archive page to them - just a page with slug "testimonials".
- WooCommerce
- After plugin installation you will see a welcome message to install all necessary pages. Or you can do the same from the plugin settings page (video + article).
- WP Job Manager and Addons
- As in case with WooCommerce after plugin installation you need to go through setup process to add 3 pages (article, video tutorial). It will add Post a Job, Job Dashboard and Jobs pages.
- Applications add-on - you can allow employees to view their past applications by adding the [past_applications] shortcode to a page.
- Resume Manager add-on - create a page to list all resumes with [resumes] shortcode. Add page where people can submit their resumes with [submit_resume_form]. A page where employees can see their submitted resumes, allowing them to edit or remove them with [candidate_dashboard] shortcode.
- Bookmarks add-on - list all your bookmark with the [my_bookmarks] shortcode.
- Job Alerts add-on - list all your job alerts with the [job_alerts] shortcode.

All testimonials are displayed on the archive page, the page that has slug "testimonials". To display a carousel on the homepage use "Testimonials" page builder element.
